We have absolutely loved having Playformance as a field-trip for our class these past years. Recently, we have bookended our year with 2 visits to Playformance: once at the beginning of the year, and one at the end. We have found it as a great way to begin our year, so as to promote group friendship, build a sense of community, and at times help the more shy children break out of their shell. To end our year, we have found it a wonderful way to end on a fun, positive, playful note (the kids absolutely view this as their favorite field-trip). The fundamentals of having fun, taking care of each other, and creative play have definitely been very important to our classroom, and we do our best to integrate these principles into our daily experience with the children. I hope this gives you a sense of how much we appreciate you, all the staff, and the space you have created at Playformance.

We have been taking our class to Playformance for field trips for the last three years and love it every time. We always go at the beginning and end of the school year, my co-teacher and I also use many of their play philosophies in our class throughout the school year. We love to go at the beginning of the year because it gives students an opportunity to learn new concepts and team build in a safe space. They learn the healthy play rules and to take care of each other first which is a concept we come back all year long. I love seeing them take risks and work together in a way they normally would not have the chance to. They also learn that conflict resolution skills and that it is possible to work things out without fighting, which for first through third graders is not always easy. The coaches are amazing and are great at being patient when helping the kids learn new games. We plan to come back as often as we can!

We make sure a field trip to Playformance is one of the first things we put on our calendar. This year was our 6th year retuning. We have never been disappointed with our visits. The staff / coaches are fun, supportive, creative, and kind. The kids are engaged in teamwork and cooperative play throughout their stay. The students, teachers, and parents look forward to this trip all school year. Can’t say enough good things about PLYFORMANCE.

We absolutely LOVE taking our students to Playformance. Students engage in games and team building activities that require integrity, respectful/safe play, listening, following directions, and provide opportunities for student autonomy while having FUN!! Playformance instructors model growth mindset and respectful ways to play so that the kids find immediate success in whatever activity/game they engage in. Playformance is a wonderful place to help kids overcome fears, strengthen friendships, and develop good sportsmanship. It’s our favorite field trip of the year!
“Playformance was an awesome field trip for our 7th graders. Number one: the entire experience was FUN! Even though it was "non-academic" it checked several boxes for yearlong goals we have including but not exclusively: teamwork and perseverance. The coaches put our students in situations where they had to think on their feet and collaborate to solve problems. This can paralyze some 12 year olds but when it is based in PLAY the kids were comfortable getting out of their comfort zone and into their learning zone. We saw better communication and some new friendships when we got back to school too. We will be going back next year!”

“Kevin led my students through an incredible 2 hours of team building, problem solving and personal growth. Skills that transcend not only into the classroom, but throughout their lives. They still talk about being in their growth zone vs comfort or panic zones in class. I plan on incorporating Playformance into all my classes!”
